Melaka's Famous Attractions

The Heritage Trails takes you on a trip to experience the legacy and culture of Malacca city which was inhabited by the Portugese, British and Dutch over a period of four centuries. Remnants of their rule can be seen throughout the town from the A-Famosa fort to the nearby Stadthuys and Christ Church.

Jonker Street

Jonker Street is a definite heaven for antique collectors and bargain hunters.

Authentic artefacts and relics, some dating as far back as 300 years, can be found among a host of interesting collectibles, each with its own history and mystery.

Melaka Sultanate Palace

The Melaka Sultanate Palace is a modern reconstruction of the palace of Melaka Sultanate in 1984.

The building is reconstructed without the use of a single nail and it is a cultural museum which consists of several galleries showcasing what the Sultanate chambers might have been like.

Melaka Maritime Museum

The museum is constructed after 'Flor De La Mar'. The Portuguese galleon sank in the Straits of Malacca on its way to Portugal

At the museum, visitors can get a closer look at Malacca from the famed Malay Sultanate of the 14th century to the Portuguese era, the Dutch era and the British era.

Menara Taming Sari

From the height of 80 metres, Menara Taming Sari offers a spectacular bird’s eye view of Melaka.

The 7-minute ride consists of room for 66 passengers and rotates up to 360 degree enabling tourists to have a panoramic view of interesting sights in Melaka.

Melaka Straits Mosque

Located at the coast of the man-made island in Melaka, also known as the Pulau Melaka, is the magnificent Melaka Straits Mosque.

The mosque, which was built in accordance to the hybrid of Middle East and Malay craftsmanship, appears to be a floating structure when water level is high.

The Stadhuys

Built in 1650 as the official residence of Dutch Governors and their officers, the edifice is an example of Dutch architecture.

Preserved in its original structure and form, it now houses the History Museum and Ethnography Museum.
